Why Being Consistent Is So Hard?
It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives. It’s what we do consistently. — Anthony Robbins

Rightly said that ,You Are What You Do Daily. But honestly talking ,being consistent is very hard,at least for me.And if you want to achieve anything in your life you need to be consistent. It feels very interesting to watch motivational videos on youTube or anywhere and then we get inspired from that and we enthusiastically start working on our goals. It happened with me many times .But I think you know what happens after some days , right? Friends,I am writing this because I personally had observed very good results in my life when I was consistent. But again in this holidays,I became inconsistent that made me feel embarrassed. So Why it is hard to be consistent? For that we have to first understand what does it mean to be consistent.
What does it mean to be consistent?
If we take the dictionary meaning it is -acting or done in the same way over time, especially so as to be fair or accurate. So when we are consistent ,it means we’re dedicated to carrying an activity or completing a task.It means we’re clear on what we want to accomplish and taking the necessary steps to reach it.
When we’re consistent, it means we’re doing what’s required now to achieve a better outcome in the future. Therefore, consistency is about repetition. It’s about doing the same things repeatedly over time to reach a desired outcome. It forms habits that become almost second nature.
For example, think about one of your goals. It requires consistent effort to push toward that goal. If you are not consistently focused on achieving it ,you will likely fall back into old habits or lose interest.Being consistent is the difference between failure and success. So I hope you got what does it mean.
Another thing we must know is that Why it is important? Unless we don’t know the importance we won’t focus on things.Consistency develops discipline and self-control, it develops routines and builds momentum ,build our self -confidence.When we do something for a long period, we will differentiate ourselves from those who aren’t consistent. This can help us attract new opportunities that may not have been possible if we hadn’t been consistent.
Why so hard?
As some of you might be aware of the above things but when it comes to be actually consistent it becomes difficult. Why it is very hard to be consistent? Here are some of the reasons which I got
- Lack of patience-In todays world people want instant results .But you have to understand that every good thing takes time. You might have seen on youTube that learn english speaking in 7 days or in some days. But it’s not possible because it is a continuous process. It requires consistent efforts.
- Desire for instant Gratification-Instant gratification is the desire to experience pleasure or fulfillment without delay or deferment.Waiting is hard, and there is an innate desire to have what we want when we want it, which is usually without any delay.
- Lack of clarity and focus- People don’t have clear and empowering goals. They don’t have strong Why?. And because of that they lack focus.
- Not having supporting habits or triggers- It is said that,”You should have the habits of a person you want to become”.Your habits decides your future ,so choose your habits carefully.
- Having a “all or nothing” mindset- All-or-nothing thinking refers to thinking in extremes. You are either a success or a failure. If you are not perfect, then you are a failure. This binary way of thinking can be responsible for a great deal of negative evaluations of yourself and others.
It is said that consistency is the key to Success. All the successful people have one habit in common that is consistency. To be consistent,we have to find the fun. When we synchronize our goals with what we enjoy, there’s no reason why we can’t be consistent .We automatically invest in who we are and who we wish to become.
Summing it up if you are facing issues with consistency ,I would recommend you to have a routine and just focus on completing that routine each day.And have a patience . Just stick to that, you will be fine.
